An original Valley Girl of the '90s, Nicolette grew up in the heart of Burbank and North Hollywood singing along to the Spice Girls and quoting Clueless in her best friend's Van Nuys bedroom. Weekends were spent at Odyssey Video and Pinocchio's Italian Restaurant. At just 8 years old she picked up her first film camera--a toy camera from the Scholastic Book Fair. As the cliche goes, the rest is history.
For many years, Nicolette grappled with the decision to pursue photography as a full-time career. As the only artist in her family, raised by parents with traditional 9-to-5 jobs and a father who experienced childhood poverty in East L.A., she often felt isolated and uncertain about her future. With no mentors in the arts--aside from a great-uncle who was a respected and accomplished Peruvian poet with Italian parentage, whom she never had the chance to meet--she navigated her path largely on her own.
It wasn't until 2017-2019 when Nicolette finally decided to give photography another shot and truly embrace her creative potential. Working with diverse backgrounds and various age groups, Nicolette demonstrates a wide range of adaptability and versatility in various photographic contexts. With a primary focus on event and portrait photography, she demonstrates expertise in capturing the essence of intimate and emotionally significant moments that reflect genuine human connection.
Currently, Nicolette is an executive board member for Women in Visuals, an organization dedicated to empowering women and individuals in creative industries.
